Nothing leaves your phone without your approval. Here is what you control: who uses each recording, how to pause or leave, and how to take your data.
Four choices, every recording
Each recording carries your choice of who can use your voice. It covers only your own voice; anyone else recorded chooses for theirs.
Open data cannot be recalled. Choose “Everyone” only for recordings you are happy for anyone to use.
Your starting choice
New recordings start from your usual choice, set under Consent and privacy. The app suggests “Nzinga's models”, and you can change the choice on every recording.
Pause contributing
Turn on “Pause all sharing” and new recordings stay with you until you turn it off. Choices you already made stay as they are.
Withdraw at any time
Withdraw one recording from its own page, or every shared recording in one step. It is removed from storage and from all future training and licensing.
Models already trained cannot unlearn a recording, and copies already released as open data cannot be recalled. You keep what you were paid.
Delete your account
Send the deletion request from the app. Your profile and every recording you shared are removed within 30 days.
Phone permissions
Each permission says why it is asked, and each one can be skipped.
Your profile
Language and dialect are needed to contribute. Region, age band and gender are optional, and each one shows why it is asked.
Optional details help models understand every accent and age group fairly.
Take your data with you
Download everything Nzinga holds about you. Today the app gives one JSON file with your profile, recordings and choices, earnings and invites.
Who can do what
Every role has limits. Only you can change the choice on your recordings.
Identity, only as needed
We verify only as much as each action needs, rely on partners who already verify people, and never store ID documents. See the identity levels on Compliance.
